Rock-it Cargo has been awarded Green Business certification by the California Green Business Network.
The certification recognizes Rock-it for its compliance with environmental regulations in the areas of waste, energy, water, pollution prevention, and air quality, and marks its commitment to taking an active approach towards conserving resources and preventing pollution across its operations.
“Rock-it places a high priority on people and our planet, and is committed to offsetting carbon emissions, supporting local communities and implementing green solutions into our daily operations,” said Sasha Goodman, Chief Administrative Officer, Rock-it Global.
“We are proud to have met the rigorous standards required to achieve the California Green Business credential and it is another step in the direction of solidifying Rock-it as an exemplary and progressive industry leader.”
Certified Green Businesses are supported by the California Green Business Network to implement practices that lead to cost savings in energy, water, and waste.
They are also able to track their environmental progress through GreenBizTracker, a web-based reporting platform that provides the tools and metrics to help businesses adopt and develop best practices and achieve their sustainability goals.
Under its Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) program, Rock-it aims to make a positive environmental and social impact by working closely with suppliers and educating staff and clients on greener industry initiatives and alternatives.
Some of its efforts to date include using environmentally friendly packaging material, fuel efficient modes of shipping, and sustainable routing schedules, as well as offsetting carbon emissions for the projects completed for clients. Last year, Rock-it signed on to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) Smartway program, which helps companies advance supply chain sustainability by measuring, benchmarking, and improving freight transportation efficiency.
