Rock-it Rescues Latin Star's Tour!

A famous Latin music artist just completed the U.S. leg of his tour and was about to head to the South American leg of his tour, starting in Buenos Aries, Argentina. Due to the quantity of equipment transported, the U.S. to Argentina journey required two charter aircraft – a Boeing 767-400F and a Boeing 747-8F.

During the transfer of the artist’s gear, the Rock-it Global team faced an unexpected challenge. The Boeing 767, carrying all the advance tour equipment from Los Angeles to Buenos Aires, suffered a bird strike while refueling in Guayaquil, Ecuador. With the aircraft grounded, the Rock-it team quickly coordinated a replacement aircraft from Mexico City in record time! But during the freight transfer, Rock-it team members on the ground noticed a missing pallet. Working with the local ground handlers and warehouse staff, the team located the pallet and ensured all gear was accounted for and loaded onto the new charter.

The Rock-it Global team went on to execute a flawless freight operation. Departing from Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), the 747 followed the 767 a day later on its journey to Buenos Aires (EZE), arriving on schedule.

The numbers from this success story are also impressive. The 767-400F transported 28 ULDs, totaling 208 pieces at a net weight of 44,092 kgs. The 747-8F, on the other hand, accommodated a more extensive cargo payload, handling 39 ULDs with a total of 259 pieces and boasting a net weight of 73,548 kgs. The grand total of cargo payload for both charters summed up to an impressive 117,640 kgs, consisting of 467 pieces.

Rock-it is committed to going above and beyond to ensure our clients’ tours go on without a hitch. Our contingency planning and strategic use of different aircraft types enabled us to navigate a challenging logistics situation and meet the needs of this client.
